God designed people for community and created in us a desire “to belong." It is in belonging with others in a Wesley group, Sunday School group or Covenant group
that we better understand and live out the Christian life.
Being part of a group allows the Holy Spirit to form disciples, as we gather for
fellowship, study, encouragement, accountability and service.

Wesley Groups
We hope that everyone at Hyde Park will become connected to a Wesley group. They consist of 6-14 people, and meet at various days and times of the week for 1 - 2 hours. Sunday School Groups are much like Wesley groups, only they all meet weekly for one hour on Sunday mornings.
Wesley groups practice four things together:
- Create close community and fellowship with one another.
- Study the Bible and help each other apply it to their daily lives.
- Participate in serving each other and in mission to the community.
- Pray for the needs of friends, neighbors, the church, and each other.
FAQ about Wesley groups:
- Are they all the same? No. Each group will grow together and individually at a different pace. Some begin deeper than others.
- Do all groups meet on the church campus? No. Some do and others meet in homes.
- Does the facilitator do everything? No. They equip members of the group to help lead discussions and with planning of the group.
- Is there a specific start and end date like classes? No, but this doesn't mean you have to be part of the group forever either.

Covenant Groups
Up to 7 persons centering on Christ who meet regularly to hold themselves mutually accountable to their discipleship. These groups are not where discipleship happens, but where they make sure it happens ... which is the biggest difference between these and Wesley groups.
FAQ about Covenant groups:
- Do I have to have completed classes such as Disciple Bible Study to participate? No. Everyone is invited to be a part of a Covenant Group.
- What is the commitment? Groups are encouraged to meet for at least nine months together and then re-evaluate their group together.
- Do Covenant Groups replace my participation in a group that includes study, service or both like a Wesley Group? No. You're encouraged to maintain attendance in a Wesley Group, serve in or outside of the church, or participate in classes offered.

Many ongoing groups have room for you! Some of these groups use Short-Term DBS curriculum, some are using faith-based books, and others are using other short-term Bible studies. Click here to browse the entire list of OPEN ongoing groups.
