"Parenting Beyond Your Capacity" for parents of teens

10:45 a.m. - 12 p.m. Sundays [4 weeks] Begins June 3

Most parents have so many demands on their time that they can't be the kind of parent they desire to be. They need to know that two combined influences will make a greater impact on kids than just two influences. And it's true. Parents who partner with the faith community are the best way to bring the next generation into the family of God-and keep them there. $14.99 for book. Facilitated by Amy Tamargo and Emily Felgenhauer.

WOMEN  Beth Moore's "James - Mercy Triumphs"

6:30 - 8 p.m. Tuesdays [8 weeks] Begins June 5

James, Jesus' own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer.

(Includes Sunday School Groups)
Groups of 6 to 14 people come together to build community through accountability, encouragement, and prayer so all members experience life transformation through Christ. Some are organized by gender, life stage, or age. Wesley groups meet in members’ homes or in the church building. They meet weekly for 1 - 2 hours, All groups begin with a commitment of 3 months, and then decide together on their future. It is our hope for everyone at Hyde Park to be connected to a Wesley group.

Wesley groups practice four things together:

1. Create close community and fellowship with one another.
2. Study together and help each other apply it to their daily lives.
3. Participate in serving each other and in mission to the community.
4. Pray for the needs of friends, neighbors, the church, and each other.

Times and days vary

Have you taken classes and been part of groups, but seek accountability for your discipleship and life?

Up to 7 persons centering on Christ who meet regularly to hold themselves mutually accountable to their discipleship. These groups are not where discipleship happens, but where they make sure it happens ... which is the biggest difference between these and Wesley groups, and means they do not incorporate a study.
