Wellness Policy: We do our best to keep the nursery clean and germ free.
Hyde Park United Methodist provides a well baby nursery and we are not
equipped to care for children who are not feeling well.
Children with the following symptoms will not be admitted to the nursery:
-coughing, sneezing, runny nose- yellow or green nasal discharge, fever in the last 24 hours, diarrhea in the last 24 hours, vomiting in the last 24 hours, skin rash, discharge from the eye or pink eye.
If your child begins to exhibit these signs while in the nursery, you will be contacted to remove your child for the safety of the other children.
Check-In & Paging System:
- Check in using the computerized check-in system.
- If you are not yet in the system, please fill out a yellow, “First Time Guest” form. If the information the computer is not correct, please us a green, “Updated Family Information” form.
- Label any items (bottles, sippy cups, diaper bags) you bring for your child.
- You will be given a pager upon each visit to our nursery. Pagers must be returned when you pick up your child. You will be paged if the nursery staff are in need of your assistance while your child is in our care. We are slowly working away from using the pagers. If your correct cell number and carrier information is in the computer, we will begin texting you rather than using the pagers.
For the safety of your child, parents must remain on the church campus while children are in our nursery.
Parents provide: Labeled diaper bag, or extra underwear and change of clothes for potty training children, labeled sippy cup or bottle.
We provide: A nurturing environment, pagers, name tags, snacks, such as, Cheerios & Goldfish, diaper disposal bags and wipes
Parents of little ones are welcome to visit their child’s class at any time. We know separation anxiety can be an issue at different stages of a child’s life. Parents’ input is appreciated as we work together to make this a positive and loving experience for all.
Each paid or volunteer staff member in our Children’s Ministries program has been through an extensive orientation process and has been screened and background-checked prior to teaching your child.
