Mark your calendar and plan to join us for a food-packing event with the Society of St. Andrew, Gleaning Network.

5-9 p.m., Saturday, March 9, Orlando, Florida

We are looking for 100 Volunteers to glean from a food trade show! Each volunteer should complete this form to register.

  • Volunteers should be at least 13 years old.
  • All volunteers will be provided a T-shirt.
  • There will be a pre-event meeting 30 minutes prior to the event to go over procedures and to distribute T-shirts to all volunteers. Those registered will be notified about time, date and location of the event.

The Southeast Produce Council (SEPC) is, once again, donating all leftover produce from their annual food show. Most produce will be donated and distributed in the greater Orlando area, with the exception of a few organizations in the Tampa area, including Hyde Park United Methodist’s Open Arms ministry.

Activities will include packing leftover food into boxes, stacking on pallets, shrink-wrapping and loading produce into 18-wheeler trucks.

Register
