As we get ready to embark on our new initiative that we told you about last month of serving more of our neighbors, we have come to realize that our physical location does not dictate who we are. We feel that we can be a more effective ministry by taking our program to the people right where they live. Coupled with the knowledge that it is a significant financial burden to maintain a property this size, we have decided to move GSM’s home base to a smaller location in the Wimauma area. We are currently in the process of researching suitable sites. This relocation has the added benefit of enabling us to direct more of your donations to programming and growth rather than towards building and grounds maintenance costs.

We envision a future that sees us taking our Adult Education Program to more and more locations throughout our community. The possibilities for locations are endless: churches, work camps, civic centers, senior centers, parks, schools, etc. We can either be in a building or use trailers. Our mobile food pantry will go with our mobile classes. We will eventually have classes during the week, in the evening, and on the weekends as well. We are looking forward to creating partnerships with our community as we work together to serve our neighbors.

Although we have put the Balm Wimauma Road property up for sale, our organization, The Good Samaritan Mission, is still going strong and is excited about expanding its outreach in this community to reach an even greater number of people in more locations.
