It is among the nation's leading historically black institutions of higher education. The renowned Bethune-Cookman University Concert Chorale performs annually at Hyde Park.

Wesley Foundations on campuses involve university students in worship, Bible studies, outreach opportunities and accountability groups. Hyde Park provides annual donations to Wesley Foundation groups at Florida State University, the University of Florida and the University of South Florida.

The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home began as the Florida Methodist Orphanage in 1908. The Home has developed into a diverse ministry to children and families facing difficult circumstances. Services include residential care for school-age children and youth, emergency shelter care, therapeutic group care, foster care and adoption services, a community child care center and a transitional/independent living program. Hyde Park United Methodist collects fifth Sunday offerings for the Children’s Home.

The Florida Conference Global Mission and Justice Ministry empowers local congregations, ministries and individuals to be disciples of Jesus Christ in healing the hurts and building the hopes of people in their communities and around the world.
