YMCA Summer Camp in Georgia Joins in Gleaning
The Georgia office of SoSA sends a big thank-you to the volunteers and campers at the Tift Area YMCA summer camp.The group got together with SoSA to “pay it forward.” Together, they gleaned and bagged 1800 pounds of fresh, beautiful veggies.
A Church in Indiana Provides Gardens for Food Pantries
The peace gardens of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church are producing lots of food.In collaboration with the Society of St. Andrew in Indiana, the gardens have produced 1,00 pounds of fresh produce that have been distributed to Eastside food pantries in Indianapolis.
Mississippi Food Network Working with SoSA
The SoSA office in Mississippi was very happy to partner with the Mississippi Food Network in their mobile pantry recently.Each person packed up 25 10-pound bags of sweet potatoes to be passed out by the mobile food pantry the next day. Awesome job ladies!
North Carolina Community Center is on the SoSA Route
Jayne Hazen is one of the volunteer drivers who helps to distribute gleaned crops in North Carolina.She loves stopping at Camino Community Center to deliver gleaned produce for distribution by its food pantry.
University of Tennessee Partners with SoSA
At the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, various food crops are grown in trial programs to improve growing methods and crops.The university works with SoSA to recover the food from the trials.
Harvest of Hope Mission Trips Open to Youth and Adults
