The summer of 2020 ushered in a new era of truth and advocacy that confronts our country’s history of racial discrimination and injustice.

Our Justice Team started a local conversation with a public screening of the documentary the “Tampa Technique.

Now it’s time to have a deeper conversation that will go beyond the history of the film. We will take this opportunity to ask thought-provoking questions of our panelists and spur our community into public action. For more info contact Chalette@theportico.org.

We’ve all seen images of Americans responding to racial injustice across the country. Perhaps you have been one of those who have been marching for justice in the streets of our community. An important film, “The Tampa Technique,” examines how our Black neighbors responded to a similar time of injustice in the city.

How do recent Tampa events mirror the history examined in the film? Join us for a watch party that will start the conversation of how we can continue the march toward justice for all. Connect with Dr. Travis Bell, USF professor, for post-screening discussion. What steps can we take to balance the scales of racial equity in the city we love?
