Building Christian community within our worshiping congregation is vitally important as we encourage one another on the journey of faith. This new ministry seeks to offer genuine care and hospitality by noticing, giving personal attention and connecting with those who sit near during worship. Training and support will be offered in this ministry.

Healing Prayer Team
Day: Sunday // How Often: Monthly
This team receives training and support as they work in teams to pray with members of our church community who desire prayer. This typically takes place on the first Sunday of each month, in the Chapel following each of the worship services.

Intercessory Prayer Team
Day: Weekday // How Often: Weekly
This team supports the individuals and activities of our church as they spend time in prayer each week, interceding on our behalf. We are looking for individuals with the spiritual gifts of healing and mercy as they pray for those in our church and community.

Pew Bears
Day: Weekday // How Often: 2 – 3 times per year
Have you noticed those bears in the pews or have you received one? They bring joy and hope to many in lots of different ways. We need folks who can attach prayer cards on the bears with a ribbon and who can make sure there are plenty of bears in the pews (basic training provided.)

Prayer Shawls and Chemo Caps
Day: Saturday as a group; individually any time // How Often: Monthly
This group of friends gathers once a month to knit prayer shawls and chemo caps. When finished, each is blessed in one of our worship services and then given to those who are ill or recuperating, sharing the love and warmth of Christ.

Senior Adult Ministry Leadership Team
Day: Weekday // How Often: 2 – 4 times per year
When does a person becomes a “senior?” Some say 55 or 60 and others 62. We say if visiting our group blesses you, you are welcome! This team plans and coordinates all the group’s activities, including luncheon, outings, service projects and annual trips.

Ministry in this area requires a background check for adult volunteers.
Youth grades 7 — 12, are welcome to serve in many of these positions.
Supply Team
(Hyde Park campus)
Day: Weekday or Weeknight // How Often: Weekly
Members of this important team support our shepherds and kids by working with the Children’s Ministries staff to organize and distribute supplies for weekly programming and general supplies for the classrooms. This team works to also help organize and keep our supply room tidy and clean and from time to time may be “on call” to help purchase supplies for special events.

Sunday Morning LIve
Children’s Greeter – Hyde Park or The Portico
Greet families arriving in the Wesley Center and assist with the check-in process; Guide new families through their visit; Print and deliver attendance reports. Sunday mornings Youth, grades 7-12, welcome to serve.
Sunday Morning Coordinator
Greets children, families and Shepherds; Work on programming with the Children’s Ministries Team; Choose to work with preschool or elementary age groups.
Sunday Morning Large Group Leader (Storyteller) – Hyde Park Campus
Teach/present the Bible story in a large group format to preschool or elementary school kids in a fun, engaging way and lead the children through our 30-minute Large Group Worship time (“kids church”). Training, lesson script provided. 9:30 or 11 a.m. Sundays. Youth, grades 9 – 12, welcome to serve. 9:30 or 11 a.m. Sundays
Sunday Shepherd (Sunday School Teacher) – Hyde Park or The Portico
Teach/assist small group lesson for a group of 5—10 children. Serve in the 3-4-K or Grades 1-5 age groups. Co-leader or assistant will serve with you. Teach children about God’s love and the joy of being a part of the church family. Training, lessons and supplies are provided. 9:30 or 11 a.m., 5:30 p.m. Sundays Youth, grades 7 – 12, welcome to serve
Sunday Morning Musical Worship Leader
Lead musical worship as part of Large Group time for elementary or preschool students, work with Children’s Ministries Team on song selection and ways to make musical worship engaging for children. 9:30 or 11 a.m. Sundays Youth, grades 9 – 12, welcome to serve.
Sunday Morning Tech Leader – Hyde Park campus
Run Audio/Visual (A/V) elements during Large Group time for elementary or pre-school students. Assist/coach older elementary children in A/V roles, too. Training provided.
Sit Together Sunday Activity Bag Team
Members of this team put together the activity bags for kids to use during worship for each Sit Together Sunday. Weekdays prior to each Sit Together Sunday

Lead worship service at 5:30 p.m. at The Portico. Time commitment is 1.5 hours for rehearsal on Sunday just before the 1 hour worship service.

Lead worship for contemporary services. Time commitment is 1.5 hours for rehearsal on Wednesdays and three hours on most Sundays.

Chancel Choir Member (audition required)

Participate in the musical portions of traditional worship services. Time commitment is 1.5 hours weekly on Wednesdays, plus performance during worship services on Sundays (warm up at 10:30 a.m., service at 11 a.m.) Occasional extra seasonal services.

Service with a team of technicians to produce the technical elements of Sunday worship. Teams serve one Sunday a month in live video, projection, sound and lighting. Group training and individual coaching are available.
