This Sunday, Aug. 23, the Rev. Gary Mason, Ph.D., will be our guest preacher. He will be preaching on Micah 6:8, our last stop in the Old Testament as part of our Bible Project 2020. Gary lives in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he is the founder and director of Rethinking Conflict, which seeks to model the principles of the historic Good Friday Agreement. It delivers this through building peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland, the Middle East, and the United States, along the sharper, more fractured edges of society.
Gary is a Methodist Minister, and holds a PhD from the school of Psychology at the University of Ulster. He was also awarded an honorary Doctorate in Divinity for his role in peace building in Ireland, from Florida Southern College. He completed his theological studies at Queens University and holds a Bachelor’s in Business Studies from the University of Ulster. We look forward to Gary’s sermon, in which he will make connections between Micah and issues of peace and justice which face our country today.
