Hyde Park Location
Whether you are looking for a majestic, traditional service with a full Chancel Choir and glorious pipe organ or upbeat, contemporary services with modern bands and singers, there is an offering for everyone.
The Hyde Park campus dates to 1899, when 30 people first met in a two-room schoolhouse on the corner of Magnolia and Platt Streets, where the old fire station currently stands. Today the campus occupies most of three city blocks, filled with a broad range of active ministries for adults, youth and children, supporting the church mission of Making God’s Love Real not only on this campus, but The Portico campus, the community and the world.
We believe that it is vital to the body of Christ to celebrate the spiritual gifts of all people, including those with disabilities, and incorporate them into the life of the church. Our Hyde Park campus was reconfigured some years ago to make it more accessible. We are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Our Ministry Offices parking lot is in the center of our campus and contains five designated parking spaces with ramps that provide access to Knox Hall, the Sanctuary, Wesley Center and our Ministry Offices. Additional spaces can be designated through the use of portable signage. Our Sanctuary does not have steps that need to be navigated and the Wesley Center, our children’s educational building, includes an elevator for access to all three floors. There are two additional reserved parking spaces next to our Magnolia Building, home to our Youth Ministries. Bathrooms in all buildings have wide stalls for easy access.
