Series Summary:
The literal center of the Bible is a literary pivot point in the biblical narrative. Over and against the narrative histories of Genesis through Nehemiah, and the prophetic oracles of the major and minor prophets, there is the wisdom literature. This special collection of stories and writings sometimes pose a “foil” to the rest of the Hebrew Bible: they challenge notions of guaranteed blessing and rewards for faithfulness, tapping into the often-harsh realities of life.
